The 2025 Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival in Vermont is set to take place on August 2–3 along the scenic Burlington waterfront. This vibrant community event brings together paddlers of all skill levels to race traditional dragon boats in a celebration of teamwork, resilience, and community spirit. Saturday, August 2, will feature 500-meter races for Sport and Breast Cancer Division teams, while Sunday, August 3, will welcome Community Teams for 200-meter races along the shoreline. The festival is hosted by Dragonheart Vermont, a nonprofit organization that empowers breast cancer survivors through the sport of dragon boating.

Beyond the races, the festival is a major fundraising event supporting both Dragonheart Vermont and its 2025 pledge partner, Sail Beyond Cancer VT. These organizations provide therapeutic and empowering experiences for cancer survivors and their families, including sailing excursions that offer moments of peace and connection. The festival’s mission is deeply rooted in healing, community support, and celebrating life, making it more than just a sporting event—it’s a heartfelt gathering with a purpose.

Festival-goers can enjoy a wide range of activities including food vendors, live entertainment, raffles, a scavenger hunt for kids, and a touching flower ceremony to honor those affected by cancer. Held at Waterfront Park in Burlington, the event is open to the public and encourages participation through racing, volunteering, or simply cheering from the shore. Whether you're a paddler or a supporter, the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival offers a powerful and joyful way to connect with the community and support a meaningful cause.
